"Continuum is a revolutionary  movement practice"

What is Continuum?
Continuum is an exploration into breath, sound and the watery, fluid nature of your body. Engaging non-patterned movement coupled with the vibrations of sound and breath you explore and awaken your bio-intelligence. You let go of the ways you define your body and what it can do, and open to the mystery of life that vibrates inside of you.

Water is a key element to our well being as all metabolic exchanges in the body happen through water. The vibrating resonances of sound and breath enliven and stimulate the waters that bathe your internal landscape. Your curiosity, attention to felt sensation, and permission for what arises acts as a guide to a rich world of movement. Continuum inspires creativity in your thinking and enlivens your body.
Benefits of Continuum
-     Expands your movement and sensation vocabulary, increasing somatic resources
-
Heightens your ability to be receptive and resilient in this fast changing world
-     Develops core strength and flexibility, revitalizing bones and joints, increasing
nourishment on all levels, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual

-    Awakens creativity, innovation and play
-    Facilitates trust in your inherent body wisdom, expanding your capacity for presence,
      emotional healing  and communication

-    Deepens your spiritual connection including your fundamental connection to life and
      the natural world
-
Releases, relaxes and realigns, as in receiving body work
-    Provides a nurturing environment for growth and renewal

Private Sessions and Mentoring
In private sessions we begin with a dialogue to tease out what is being asked for. Inside your body
resides a magnificent intelligence with all the information you need to guide you. We work together listening to the language of words, and also to the language of your body through movement and sensations. Sometimes Continuum breaths or movements are helpful as a way to enter or you may have a dream or story that begins the session. Being witnessed, seen, heard, with reflection back
is a powerful experience. Whether we delve in the emotional, physical or spiritual realms, your
internal wisdom will guide us, and shine a light on what is asking to be seen.

Mentoring is the art of giving and receiving, in relationship.

Mentoring sessions can be helpful if you have questions about your personal journey. Sometimes our head says one thing, our heart another and our visceral body yet another. Each has a voice and when we make space for each to have their unique expression the unexpected can emerge and offer something we couldn’t have known before.

Mentoring sessions can also be helpful if you are exploring a path that involves facilitating groups, teaching, or having a one on one practice. The way we shape our attention has an effect on the person or situation we are engaged with. Knowing how you find your way, in your felt sense body, your emotions and cognitively, when chaos in whatever form is pulling focus, is crucial as a holder
of space for others.

Private sessions and Mentoring are sliding scale, $150 to $200 for 1.5 hours, if finances are
an issue please call.

Kim Brodey
"I began teaching Continuum in 1994 and was authorized by Emilie Conrad and Susan Harper in 1998 to lead workshops in Europe and North America. I have also trained extensively in Susan Harper’s Continuum Montage work. These practices as well as 50+ years of exploring many somatic modalities all inform my workshops, classes, and private sessions. Creating an environment wherein participants have the opportunity and permission to explore new territory is key to my facilitation. I bring patience, and an invitation to creative play with movement in all its forms. I have been teaching, working with individual clients, groups and couples since 1972, when I began work as a rural midwife. My work as a midwife continues, no longer with babies, rather with the process of becoming fully embodied."

CONTINUUM AND NATURE CONNECTION
Continuum Depths Retreat Oct. 17th, 18th and 19th, 2025

“The body renews itself through its own dissolution.”
                                                                                  – Emilie Conrad

The daily demands of life prevent us from taking the time we need to dissolve and enter a creative process where our biology is freed from the confines of cultural definitions. We are nourished by the wilderness inside of ourselves, an unpredictable ever-changing landscape that we call the Great Mystery. In this territory is where we recognize ourselves as evolutionary movement. It is here we come home to ourselves only to dissolve again and again, surrendering to that which beckons us deeper into the unknown so that we can be born anew.

To experience the present, sensation-to-sensation, moment by moment, released of our respective histories, to get behind and underneath our identities…to the substratum of who we are is to enter the Mystery.

This retreat is a call to open wide the doors of curiosity, invoke the 13 billion year old intelligence that created us and dance with those pulsating, and undulating evolutionary processes. We know that old cells are constantly dying and being replaced by new ones. When we change the environment in which the new cells
are forming, to one that is open and fluid, the Mysterious Intelligence of life can be revealed. The longer we can immerse ourselves in this creative, open exploration, the deeper the renewal.

“ What we call a body is an open-ended expression of an ongoing process that is in constant flux, arranging, re-arranging and experimenting as new formations come into existence.” -E. Conrad

An email with registration information will be going out soon.

Black River, Farm and Wilderness, situated on 300+ acres of forest and farmland in Madoc Township, Hastings County, is part of our family’s intergenerational collaborative effort to protect land, conserve wild habitat, and honor our relationships with the natural world as integral to our well-being. We are the grateful students of this land, that is part of a growing community of people in the Hamlet of Cooper, north of Madoc, who are taking action to protect wilderness, regenerate farmland, and learn how to be good stewards for future generations.

Black River, Farm and Wilderness has open fields, forest with White Pine and Maple Elders, beautiful Canadian shield cliffs and a meeting of enormous ancient stones we call Turtle and the Grandfathers. There is a fresh Water Spring in the middle of Cedar Forest.

We honor and acknowledge the Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ nations on whose traditional and ancestral territories colonialism is still being enacted. We strive to learn to recognize our blind spots and do things differently, we are very grateful to live and dance here as visitors. We invite you to take a moment to find for yourself what acknowledging means to you and how the action of repair lives in you.
